REd, White, and Lights @ Crump Park
Wear your red, white, and blue and spend your holiday at the park with patriotic activities for the whole family. Enjoy food trucks, entertainment, a kids’ zone, and a performance by the Richmond Symphony with a laser light show! Gates open and pre-concert activities begin at 4 p.m. Park entrance will close at 8:45 p.m. (or earlier if event reaches capacity).
Dogwood Dell @ byrd park
Pack a picnic, grab a blanket, and head over to Dogwood Dell to celebrate our nation’s independence with a free night of music and fireworks starting at 6PM!
RVA PADDLE SPORTS
Watch the Dogwood Dell fireworks ON the river! Starting at Pony Pasture and ending at Reedy Creek, embark on an expedition-style trip with personal gear, blankets, and food packed in dry bags on the raft. This route is family friendly and contains very mild rapids.
About halfway down the stretch of river, the group will stop on a deserted island in the middle of the James River to enjoy a catered dinner as the sun sets.and fireworks reflecting off the river.
Isley Brewing Company
Every July 4th, Isley Brewing Company hosts a 4th of July event featuring live music, food trucks, patio games, and a dunk tank! Bring your own lawn chairs and pick a spot on their urban patio to enjoy drink specials, craft beer releases, and fun!
This free event starts at noon and ends with a view of the fireworks display from The Diamond after dark.
Rocketts Red Glare
Rocketts Red Glare is a two-day event on July 3rd and 4th that takes place in Rocketts Landing and features the Richmond Volleyball Club’s semi-pro beach volleyball tournament. There are several men’s and women’s teams from across the country participating in the event, so there’s sure to be some heavy competition! Admission to the event is free and there are plenty of food trucks, craft beers, and vendors to keep you occupied.

Harydwood Let Lager Ring!
ardywood is celebrating Independence Day early at the West Creek location with fireworks, music, games, food and craft beer. Starts at noon; music kicks off at 2:30 p.m.; fireworks begin at dusk. Hardywood West Creek, 820 Sanctuary Trail Drive. $10; free for kids younger than 12.
Carter’s Mountain (Charlottesville, VA)
Groove to live music 6-9PM with food trucks and beverages while enjoying a view of local fireworks at the bottom of the mountain! Gates close at 7PM (no admittance after then).
Lights of freedom (Colonial Williamsburg)
Highlights include a reading of the Declaration of Independence, American marching music of the Revolution, and a patriotic sing-along culminating in a grand fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.
